Bosh was born to Freida and Noel Bosh in Dallas, Texas, and was raised in Hutchins, which was a suburb of the city. He would often play basketball as a kid with his siblings.
He learned to dribble a basketball at the young age of 4. He was also tall for his age, so he always became the rebound whenever his peers played with him. He began taking the game seriously around fourth grade. He briefly did karate and gymnastics and simultaneously played basketball until high school as a first baseman.
He was inspired by Kevin Garnett, an NBA player who was his favorite influencer and athlete and also credits his parents. He also academically excelled in school and was a member of the National Honor Society and several engineering organizations.

Bosh had been in a relationship with his girlfriend, Allison Mathis but broke up eventually.
